NDB-DOC-3 Check your transformer status quickly and easily!

The NDB-DOC-3 is a test instrument designed for distribution networks transformers from 5kVA to 3MVA. It can determine the presence of short circuits or open circuits in the distribution transformer primary winding & also short circuits on the secondary winding. The NDB-DOC-3 is designed to be operated without disconnecting the transformers secondary windings from their loads.

FEATURES

  • De-energized transformers from 5kVA to 3MVA
  • Measurement by contact on the transformer primary bushings
  • Detects primary transformer short-circuit, open circuit, & secondary short circuits
  • Visual and audible warning
  • Automatic self-test & auto shut-off
  • Low battery indicator

Linemen crews are called on to re-energize transformers regularly, whether it’s after storms or when line faults occurs etc... The reasons for the outages are not always obvious, but the power needs to get back on. When damaged or connected to a faulty circuit, the transformers can rupture with massive amount of energy when attempting to re-energize. In order to make a better decision whether it is safe to re-energize the transformer or not the NDB-DOC-3™ is your friendly and safe choice!

NDB-DOC-3 defines transformer status from calculations based on 2 important transformer specifications:

       Size(Power) range in KVA

       Nominal Primary winding voltage rating

*Phase-Phase voltage for Delta

** Phase-neutral voltage for Yn and Single phase

The NDB-DOC-3 uses DC resistance and AC impedance test methods to test a wide range of distribution transformer configurations. The NDB-DOC-3 is designed to be operated without needing to disconnect the transformer secondary windings from their loads. Please note, partial shorts, or shorts that only appear under high voltages may not always be detected by the NDB-DOC-3.
